Lakeland - Linder Regional (LAL)

Lakeland is home to the annual EAA Sun n Fun fly-in and the International Sport Aviation Museum is situated on the airfield. More information on this Museum is given in the final section of the book.
Tony’s Airside Restaurant is also situated on the airfield and after arrival, if you ask the tower for "taxi to Tony’s" they will allow you to taxi and park your aircraft right outside the restaurant which is situated next to the Tower.

This can be an extremely busy restaurant, especially at Sunday lunchtimes and this, in itself, speaks volumes for the quality of the food and service.
One final word about Lakeland. It can be an extremely busy airfield catering for a wide variety of different types of aircraft although the standard of the air traffic controllers is one of the best in Florida, probably because of their experience with Sun n Fun.

Please note that following the tragic events of 11 September many of the FAA requirements to obtain a Certificate based on the UK Licence have changed. Please check the FAA website for up-to-date guidance.
Unfortunately my book is now out of print with Seager Publishing and Flyer Magazine and I am currently working on a complete update to be published in due course. If you do find that any of the details in this guide are incorrect I would welcome your feedback to ensure that the next revision is as up to date as possible.
